We have a network of experts and advisors that have helped us create a powerful little renovations company. We thought you’d like to meet them so we’ve asked our trusted colleagues a few questions; some silly, some serious.
Meet Yvonne Choe, Owner of Yvonne Choe Design & Photography
IKAG: What do you love most about what you do?
Yvonne: The people. I love interacting with clients.
IKAG: What the best projects for home resale value?
Yvonne: Little things can add wow factor and luxury to a relatively simple renovation, increasing your home’s resale value and making it appealing to a wider audience. For example, adding a fireplace to your basement renovation will add comfort but will also add a feature element to the space that buyers will remember when shopping around for a new home. Adding underfloor heating to a basement bathroom will add a feel of luxury. Taking your kitchen cabinets to the ceiling adds more storage and also makes the ceilings appear higher and the kitchen appear more high-end.
IKAG: How would your friends describe you?
IKAG: What is one gift you’ll never forget?
Yvonne: My dad gave me a snow mobile for my 16th birthday. The keys were in my birthday card.
IKAG: Biggest design mistakes?
Yvonne: The biggest design mistakes I see is adding too much, overthinking and overanalyzing. Keep it simple. It is actually really difficult to do well but when mastered can create beautifully elegant space.
IKAG: What celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Yvonne: Jennie Garth
IKAG: Greatest thing you’ve learned about your business?
Yvonne: I started Yvonne Choe Design as a way to achieve a better life work balance and to be able to spend more time with my little girls. I figured I would pack up and go back to the corporate world when my kids are in school full time. But you know what? This whole life-work balance thing is really working for me and I couldn’t have partnered with a better group of people that have wonderful clients and do amazing work.
IKAG: One word to describe I Know A Guy?
