We have a network of experts and advisors that have helped us create a powerful little renovations company. We thought you’d like to meet them so we’ve asked our trusted colleagues a few questions; some silly, some serious.
Meet Jesse Martini, Owner of Bekmar Plumbing & Heating.
IKAG: What do love most about what you do?
Jesse: I love solving problems
IKAG: Most proactive thing you can do for your home?
Jesse: It’s important to be aware of the maintenance required to ensure your home lasts as long as possible. For heating, having your furnace and/or boiler regularly cleaned and serviced. For plumbing, a water softener may be considered to increase the lifespan of your plumbing fixtures. It is also important to not throw grease down the kitchen sink!
IKAG: What was your first job?
Jesse: Meat sorter at Superstore
IKAG: Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Jesse: I have never been mistaken for a celebrity but I do get called a buffalo a lot.
Side note: Some say a Buffalo is a symbol of stability, strength and abundance. (I googled it.)
IKAG: One word to describe I Know A Guy?
IKAG: What should people know about the plumbing and renovation industry?
Jesse: I have a deep respect for the two most difficult aspects of construction, estimating and project management.
Estimators are people charged with the task of predicting what a project will cost before it starts. If they overestimate, the price will be too high and they won’t win the bid. If they underestimate their price will be too low and the company will lose money and could go bankrupt. A huge amount of responsibility is placed on estimators to keep people employed.
The second and equally difficult task is getting the job done on time and on budget and the person in charge is the project manager. Construction may not be rocket science but it sure is close. Construction is one of the most difficult and stressful industries out there and Project Managers are responsible for it all.
IKAG: One word to describe Bekmar.
IKAG: Thanks Jesse.
